Main Parlor

Main Parlor

Illuminating the main parlor is an impressive oil chandelier, which was found in pieces in the basement. The chandelier, which was the original parlor fixture, was restored and electrified . Most of the elegant furniture is from the Sauber family. The late 1800's organ has been electrified and may be played by guests. A baby grand piano (circa 1920), thought to be a "presentation piece" because of its unusual ornate design, furthur graces this lovely room. Original oil portraits of Kurt's great, great, great, great, great aunt and uncle from the late 1700's hang in oval frames on the south wall. Don't miss the shadow box on the east wall displaying photos of the interior and exterior of Harvey Sauber Sr.'s grocery market (circa 1911), along with original store receipts, and Harvey's favorite mechanical pencil and wire-rimmed glasses.
